Your Trust is Our Highest Priority
Transparent, student-first data protection. We believe education thrives on trust, strict encryption, and uncompromising privacy for students, parents, and educators.
Our commitments
We Never Sell Student Data
We never sell or rent student data, homework uploads or problem-solving history, and we do not use advertising cookies.
Encrypted Connections
Every connection to SparklMind, including live classes, uses HTTPS or encrypted video, and our hosting, database and storage providers encrypt stored data.
Built for School-Age Students
Designed for Grades 5–12: parents can watch class recordings in the student's account and receive written progress reports, and every teacher passes an identity check before teaching.
1. Information We Collect
A. Account & Student Profile Details
When you register or update your account, we collect your name, username, email address, grade or exam target (e.g. Class 11, JEE, AP Calculus, SAT), country and time zone. Phone and WhatsApp numbers, and a parent's or guardian's name, email and phone, are optional and used for class scheduling and progress updates.
B. AI Math Studio & Compute Interactions
When you use the AI tools (for example the step-by-step solver, the AI tutor or homework help), the questions you type and the images or PDFs you upload are sent to our AI providers, OpenAI, Google (Gemini) and DeepSeek, to generate the answer. We do not use your uploads or questions to train AI models.
C. Live Classroom Whiteboard & Video Feeds
Live classes run on LiveKit video. We record each class (video, audio and the shared whiteboard) and keep worksheets uploaded to it. Recordings are available only in the student's own account (which parents can use), to the student's teacher, and to SparklMind administrators.
D. Technical & Diagnostic Telemetry
Our servers log your IP address, browser and device type, and errors, to keep the site working and to block abuse. When you sign in we also record the approximate city and country your connection comes from, shown to our admins to keep accounts safe. With your consent where required (see the Cookie Policy), Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity record how pages are used, including Clarity heatmaps and session recordings.
2. How We Use Your Data
Teaching
Planning and teaching classes, reviewing mistakes, and providing the AI tools' step-by-step answers and hints.
Parental Progress Reporting
Writing the fortnightly progress reports that parents and guardians receive.
Billing & Compute Accounting
Tracking AI credits and processing payments through Razorpay and Stripe, which are PCI DSS certified. Card details go directly to them; we never see or store card numbers or CVVs.
Platform Security & Abuse Prevention
Limiting what each account role can see, preventing spam and abuse in the community, and keeping a log of administrative actions.
3. Student & Minor Privacy Safeguards
Students Under 13
Students under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets a higher age) should only use SparklMind with a parent's or guardian's permission, and we ask a parent or guardian to create and manage their account. If you believe a child has given us personal information without that permission, contact us and we will delete it. Parents can ask to review, correct or delete their child's information at any time.
Educational Records
A student's diagnostic results, quiz attempts, recordings and messages with their teacher are shared only with the student's account, their teacher and SparklMind administrators, and with the service providers listed below where needed to run the service. We do not publish them.
5. Your Rights & Data Ownership
Right to Access & Portability
You can download your study-tracking data from Track settings. For a copy of any other information we hold about you, email us and we will send it.
Right to Rectification & Deletion
You can update your profile at any time. To delete your account, email us from the address on the account; we will delete your personal information and uploads, sign you out everywhere, and confirm by email, normally within 30 days. We may keep payment records where the law requires it.
