Cookie Policy
Last updated September 30, 2026
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. SparklMind uses two kinds: essential cookies that keep you signed in, and analytics cookies that show us how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell information collected through cookies. This page lists every cookie the site sets. For how we handle personal information more generally, see our Privacy Policy.
Essential cookies
The sign-in cookies are set only when you sign up or sign in, and the site's account features cannot work without them. On the live site their names start with __Secure-, which tells the browser to send them over encrypted connections only. The last two remember your cookie choice and where you are visiting from, and hold nothing else.
| Cookie | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| sparklmind.session_token | Keeps you signed in and identifies your session securely. | 7 days |
| sparklmind.session_data | A short-lived copy of your session so pages load without checking the database every time. | 5 minutes |
| sparklmind.dont_remember | Set only if you sign in without staying signed in, so the session ends when you close the browser. | Browser session |
| sparklmind_pending_reg | Remembers the email you are verifying while you enter the sign-up code. | 10 minutes |
| sparklmind_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. | 180 days |
| sparklmind_region | Records whether you are visiting from the UK or EU, so we know whether to ask before using analytics cookies. | 7 days |
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages people use, and Microsoft Clarity to see where pages are confusing or broken, using heatmaps and session recordings. Clarity masks text you type into forms. These cookies are set by Google and Microsoft, and the information they collect is processed under their own privacy policies: Google and Microsoft.
| Cookie | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Google Analytics: distinguishes visitors so we can count them. | 2 years |
| _ga_<ID> | Google Analytics: keeps track of the current visit. | 2 years |
| _clck | Microsoft Clarity: keeps the same anonymous ID across visits. | 1 year |
| _clsk | Microsoft Clarity: joins the pages of one visit into a single recording. | 1 day |
| CLID, MUID, ANONCHK, SM | Microsoft Clarity: set by Microsoft to identify the browser and link Clarity data. | Up to 1 year |
We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure page speed. They do not set cookies.
Your choice
If you visit from the United Kingdom, the European Union or the rest of the European Economic Area, analytics cookies stay off until you accept them in the cookie banner. Everywhere else they are on by default, and you can turn them off in the banner. You can change your choice at any time; declining removes the analytics cookies already set.
Settings stored in your browser
Some preferences are kept in your browser's local storage rather than in cookies. They stay on your device, are not sent to our servers with each request, and are used only to remember:
- Your light or dark theme.
- Which sections of the AI tools sidebar are open, and your AI tool settings.
- Whether you have already seen a page's guided tour.
- Drafts and saved items in the community, so they survive a page reload.
How to control cookies
- Use the “Change cookie settings” button above to accept or decline analytics cookies.
- Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies in its settings. Blocking the essential cookies will stop you from signing in; the rest of the site still works.
- To stop Google Analytics on every website, install Google's opt-out browser add-on.
- Browser tracking protection and content blockers can also block the Google and Microsoft analytics scripts.
- Clearing your browser's site data removes the settings stored in local storage.
Changes and questions
If we add or remove a cookie, we will update this page and the date at the top. Questions about cookies or your data can be sent to hello@sparklmind.com.
